Bad stuff first, so I can get it out of the way. Both of my boys are out of work right now. Brian left his job to start a new one last week but during the physical, something abnormal showed up on his EKG. So he can't start the new job until he gets clearance from a cardiologist. He saw one this morning, had an echocardiogram (sp?) and a chest x-ray and some blood drawn and on Tuesday he's having a stress test done. After all of that, we should know if everything is okay and if it is, he should be able to get back to work. If it's not...I don't even know what will happen.
Also, Stephen lost his job for a stupid reason, because he lost his SS card last time he moved and they only gave him three days to bring it in. Anyway, we just have to go get a replacement one and then everything will be okay. But in the meantime, it's just annoying.
Good news: I got a promotion, starting on Monday I get a cool new job working for my same manager, who I love! My new job is challenging and I really wanted it a lot. I get a raise too, so you can't beat that :)
I have tomorrow off, we're going to finish up our Christmas shopping and go to the Social Security office. This weekend is going to be great, I really love Christmas. We're having my family over Sunday night and we're going to Brian's sister-in-law's house for breakfast Christmas morning. My brother is getting back from Florida Saturday night, haven't seen him for three weeks, so that should be fun. I'm really looking forward to a nice relaxing four days off. Hopefully I'll find some time for scrapbooking, it's been a while.

Definitely some crappy news there. Hopefully Brian will be ok and get clearance to go to work soon.
As for Stephen, I assume the SS card to to show proof of eligibility to work? Does he have a passport by any chance? Or aren't there other items he could bring in? If not, hopefully he gets a new SS card soon!
And congrats on the promotion. Hope it works out well for you. And yay for a raise!
SORRY about Brian and his new job. I will be thinking of you all on during this time. Hopefully all is well and Brian can get back to his new job.
We lost morgan's ss card when she was a baby....young, unorganized, moving all the time parents. I got her a new one when she was like 4. It wasn't hard, but it time consuming.

let us know how Brian is doing...especially where his cardiac stuff is concerned! Congratulations on your promotion and raise. That is so awesome. Shane gets one in January and I cannot wait! Bad stuff all out of the way = clear for the next year of all bad stuff!
Congratulations on your promotion, that is a good thing in the middle of all the job loss. I hope everything is okay with Brian.
